I doubt that it's a good idea to switch the default Haskell compiler to
GHC 7.8.2 in time for the release branch. That compiler hasn't been
tested much, there is no Haskell Platform release that contains it, and
a wide array of Haskell packages don't build with version 7.8.x. It
seems, sticking with GHC 7.6.3 for the 14.04 release is the safe thing
to do.

If anyone feels differently about this subject, please state your case!
