Sometimes nix only says:
unkown xy in all-packages.nix..
Oh my god where exactly is this happening?

This patch for nix might provide some more information in these cases.

maybe you want to set moreErrorLocations = true in global.cc to be sure
to get this feature. (I haven't tested --more-error-locations very well)
