Indeed, that was one issue.  The fix is to have `/dev/pts' individually
bind-mounted, instead of relying on what visible from the `/dev' mount.
Now I get the same error as with your non-chroot build, which is an
improvement.  ;-)

DejaGNU's test suite exposes subtle sources of impurity...
