Does use NIX_OTHER_STORES use exporting, importing as well?

So maybe try mounting the /nix dir of the machine which already has the
store path usnig sshfs ans point NIX_OTHER_STORES to it.

then try installing the package the normal way (eg by nix store path
name)

Don't konw wether it works. But I would try that
