I've updated my upstart-0.5 branch as well.
There may still be some bugs. However the system can be booted and some
of the most important services do work.

The branch is based on the modular-nixos branch of course.
If you're interested get git://mawercer.de/nixos and switch to the
branch t/mn/upstart-051 . Enjoy.

Probably its still best to use kvm or such because I haven't done that
much testing yet.
