I also get strange assertion errors of functions that shouldn't be evaluated. For instance, now it's trying to build the ut2004demo derivation while I don't have it in environment.systemPackages

nixos-rebuild gives also a segfault for me

Same here on x86_64. After updating I discovered great option for
nix-collect-garbage (-d), so I can't nixos-rebuild anymore and cannot
rollback. Now I hope to install working Nix from closure when this bug
will be fixed.
