I tried to prot Nix on QNX, and I also had problem with tr which does
not support the ending '_', could you check if the following is
working on Solaris:

tr 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ ' 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz' | tr -cd
'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
