I've reverted this because it breaks some packages:

  http://hydra.nixos.org/build/2363689

Apparently automake installs files in a different location now.

P.S. I'd prefer to limit stdenv branch to just bugfixes this time around (in
particular the aborts in libgmp on some platforms).  So no major GCC upgrades or
other changes likely to break many packages :-)
