FFmpeg has native MPEG-4 support, so it doesn't need xvid.  From the configure
script:

  --enable-libxvid         enable Xvid encoding via xvidcore,
                           native MPEG-4/Xvid encoder exists [no]

AFAIK, the only reason to build with xvid support is because the encoder might
be better.
