Yes, I can confirm that it runs fine on lvm without separate boot. I
do not use any raid though, so you are on your own with that.
I used the dev-name (/dev/{VolumeGroupName}/{LogicalVolumeName}) of
the partitions instead of the labels as in the example, but both
should work fine.
