[Nix-dev] moving towards upstart-0.5

Don't know when the majority wants to do that.
That's why I'm asking you.

There are not that much differences between upstart-0.3 and upstart-0.5.
One could write an abstraction to serve both. This would be some effort
though. I don't want to spend much time on this. However if you say that
you've heavily patched upstart-0.3 for whatever reason and you think you
can't live with upstart-0.5 I'll think about a solution letting you
choose either upstart-0.3 or upstart-0.5 by configuration.nix without
changing branches.

Some of the differences are:
mingetty requires the line

session leader

instead of

start on foo/started upstart-0.5 wants to see
start on started foo

So if you don't have strong reasons for this I'd propose switching to
upstart-0.5 somewhen in the future without such a solution.

If I had tested upstart-0.5 in depth would you be ready to switch soon?
(soon = 1 month or so?)
Don't worry, I haven't tested everything yet.

Sincerly
Marc Weber
