I'm not too happy with the name "build-cores" either, mostly because
it's virtually impossible for users to tell the difference between that
option and "build-max-jobs". The semantic purpose of those two values
clearly overlaps.

One alternative I can think of is "build-threads". Not sure whether
that's much better, though.
